This is for all the moms out there that are at a lost on how to stay active after having a baby. I know it seems impossible to fit activity into your busy schedule. Taking care of another human while trying to find the energy to stay active is no easy task. But I’m here to tell you it is possible! Sometimes you have to be creative and sometimes you just have to realize that it’s okay to put your health first.

Go On A Walk
A good way to stay active and still spend time with baby is, go on a walk! This could be a walk around a neighborhood or park. You can talk to baby about his/her surroundings when you’re walking. This is great bonding and getting baby used to your voice. It helps baby and you get some Vitamin D also! I would definitely recommend investing in a jogging stroller if you like taking walks as well. This jogging stroller by Baby Trend is amazing!
Exercise While Baby Is Asleep
I personally exercised when my baby took his naps. When he was younger, he took about 2-3 naps a day, during one of these naps is when I exercised. This is what worked for me, as I did not feel bad about him not getting my full undivided attention. However, when he would skip his usual naps, I would put him in his rocker while I exercised. I would talk to him between exercises and still make sure to engage with him. Another suggestion would be, divide your workouts into five minute increments throughout the day. This will be easier to get in, while taking care of your little one! Do what works for you and baby!

Do Some Mommy And Me Workouts
If you are feeling bad about exercising while baby is awake and your little one does not take that many naps, I would recommend looking into some Mommy and Me workouts! These are workouts that you can do with your little one and engage with him/her! I wrote a blog post last week that has some Mommy and Me exercises, if you’re interested in that route. I would also suggest purchasing a waist trainer, as this will help support your back and sculpt your waist!
Exercise With Other Moms
Try to find a group of Moms that are interested in staying active also! You get to make new friends and so does your little one as well! This group of women will give you the motivation you need. Your little one will also be working on his/her social skills!
If you’re not sure what exercises to do and are unable to go to a local gym, I would recommend exercise videos! There are plenty of workout videos all over YouTube that are beneficial for new Moms. They are also free, which is a plus!
A big part of being healthy and having the energy to stay active is eating healthy. Try to find quick, easy ways to still get all your fruits and veggies in. Carrots are a great and easy vegetable to consume. Meal prepping is a great way to stay healthy as well. Try to cook more than you need one night and refrigerate the leftovers for another day.
